Doug Willis returns in 'Douggy Style'
Posted on 23rd June 2011
The irrepressible Doug Willis taps into his disco brain once again to give the world another three slamming funk fuelled house cuts in the shape of the "Douggy Style" EP.
Kicking things off is the anthemic jazz funk disco of "Music Speaks Louder Than Words". A sexy female sung chorus, soaring sax and heavyweight bass combine to make this the sort of non-cheesy disco fuelled house we don't get too often nowadays.
The cheekily titled "Doug Be Good To Me" has a more 80’s boogie approach with D Train synths and dubbed out keys over a killer Chic style bassline.
The final cut "Activated" takes things a more eurodisco direction utilizing an insistent building rhythm track which drops into a very familiar keyboard refrain that will have everyone singing and smiling.
Throw in a couple of Accapella’s and you've got a very strong release that will appeal to lovers of disco, house and vintage underpants.
